Start with something
worth improving.

You might have one specific problem, a system that needs regular attention, or a bigger project that needs to be worked out. We can start with the part that matters most.

You’ll work directly with me.

Build or improve something specific.

A new form, an integration, a reporting need, or a workflow that has outgrown the way it was first built. We define what it needs to do and what completion looks like.

For larger projects, that may mean an initial stage to investigate the systems and confirm what is possible before planning the build.

Keep making useful progress.

Regular hours can cover system support, improvements, employee questions, and continued development. We agree on the time available and put the most important work first.

A larger project may need its own hours alongside the everyday work. We discuss that explicitly so it has room to move forward.

Know the rate.
Agree on the work.

HOURLY RATE

$125 / hour

One hourly rate for Salesforce work, custom development, automation, websites, integrations, and ongoing support.

EXAMPLES FOR YOUR BUDGET
4 hours
$500
10 hours
$1,250

These show the cost of hours at this rate. The time needed for your particular work is discussed separately.

You should know what you’re agreeing to.

Before I begin, we discuss what you need, what we will work on first, and the hours and budget available. You can purchase time toward a defined project or arrange ongoing hours.

Start with a useful piece of work.

A larger project may need an initial investigation before a useful estimate is possible. We agree on that first step and use what we learn to decide what comes next.

Keep changes visible.

If the work needs more time or the scope changes, we discuss the additional hours and cost before continuing beyond the agreed work.

Talk about what you need

From the problem to something you can use.

  1. Show me the work.

Walk me through what people do today, where they get stuck, and what a better result would look like. An example is often more useful than a long requirements list.

  2. Agree on a useful finish.

We identify the first piece to tackle, the access and decisions it needs, and how we will know it is working. We discuss the hours, cost, and priorities before the work begins.

  3. Build it and try it.

I implement the changes and test them against the agreed process. The people using the system need a chance to try it with real work and identify any gaps.

Give the work a
business reason.

What will this help you do? Respond to inquiries, reduce duplicate entry, find inventory, prepare payroll, or understand the value of a purchase?

We should be able to explain the practical benefit in ordinary language. That gives us a reason to prioritize it and a way to judge the result.

Before we get started.

Do I need to know exactly what I want built?

No. Start with an example of the problem and what you need to accomplish. I can help work out which part is a process issue and which part needs a system change.

Can you work on Salesforce someone else set up?

Yes. My work includes investigating existing forms, automations, reports, and integrations. I first need to understand how the current setup works and what depends on it.

Do you only work with towing and recycling businesses?

No. My experience also includes nonprofit IT and custom web development. The useful question is whether I can help with your process, information, and technology needs.

Can you work with our employees or existing technical people?

Yes. The people doing the work bring knowledge I need. I also work with software vendors and other developers when a project involves their systems or expertise.

How much do you charge?

My hourly rate is $125. We agree on the work, hours, and available budget before I start. If more investigation is needed before an estimate is useful, I’ll explain that. See hourly pricing and budget examples.

Will I need to replace everything?

That depends on what is preventing the current setup from doing its job. I can improve existing systems and connect tools you already use. We look at what is worth keeping before deciding what to build.

How soon could you start?

Contact me with a short description of what you need and any timing requirements. I’ll discuss availability and what the work would involve.
